Manley Massive Passive Mastering Edition
The Manley Massive Passive Mastering Edition is a passive parametric equalizer with a vacuum tube gain make-up stage. It allows the user to adjust frequencies from 12 Hz to 52 kHz, divided in four EQ bands per channel, with an additional two adjustable filters per channel. The sound can range from exceptionally transparent to adding warmth and harmonic content, depending on how hard the unit is driven. Truly a mastering-grade circuit, with stepped controls for repeatability and precision of adjustment.
We use this extensively during mastering and Direct-to-Master recording whenever the situation calls for adjustment or corrections in the frequency response of the audio. It is amazing, how much you can cut or boost things with this EQ and the material still sounds natural and massive.
