O 'Hχος το Magnetic Fidelity
Please note: All of our services are purely artist-centric. We do not attempt to comply with any trends or stereotypes on how music should sound. We feel that the recording/mastering engineer is simply the person, who will translate an artistic vision into electrical signals, magnetised iron oxide particles and grooves carved into plastic, so these can then be easily translated back into the artistic vision that each artist considers as appropriate for their own music, when reproduced by the consumer. As such, you will probably notice, that each artist may sound radically different from the other artists who have worked with us and even more radically different, than what other people think they should sound like. Our opinion on how things should sound is always available to our customers, if they need it, but the artist will always have the final say on this matter. The samples found on this page are not intended to demonstrate how well we can fit into the latest trend. On the contrary, they are intended to demonstrate, how much we can differ from the latest trend to satisfy the individual aesthetic of each artist. All we need to say, is, that the artists featured on this page all feel, that the sound they got was exactly the sound they wanted.Naxatras II

Naxatras Recording Session 2015
The West (from Naxtras LP)
This analog recording was made using a minimalistic microphone set up, including vintage dynamic microphones, as well as vacuum tube condenser microphones, vacuum tube microphone preamplifiers, vacuum tube equalisers, vacuum tube compressors, and a vacuum tube mixing console. The stereophonic output of the mixing console was recorded on a highly customised Tascam 122 mkIII M9 master cassette tape recorder, running at 3.75 ips. The tape used was Maxell XLII-S CRO2 tape, loaded into custom precision shells, specially ordered by Magnetic Fidelity. The mastering was done using exclusively vacuum tube equipment and the master was finally recorded on a highly customised Studer PR99 mkIII 1/4" master tape recorder, running at 15 ips. ATR Magnetic Master Tape in 1/4" was used as the master tape, in a half-track stereo configuration. The nominal operating level was set to 510 nWb/m, with peaks going far above that. The analog versions of this album were produced directly from the analog master tape, while the digital versions were derived simply by playing back the master tape into high quality analog to digital converters, one for PCM at 192/24 and one for DSD at 5.6 MHz.

Lunar MGC
Lunar mgc are a three piece band from Thessaloniki, Greece, whose music is too interesting to be filed under a single descriptive term. They came over to Magnetic Fidelity and recorded an albums worth of material, Direct-to-Master, entirely in the analog domain, using 1/4" magnetic tape and vacuum tube equipment. During the session, we experienced a super moon, and earthquake, and some of the wildest dynamics ever to have been recorded within the realm of electrically amplified music. Engineered by Jesus I. Agnew. This is a track from their upcoming LP "Planet Geisha". Notice the rich sound of the Magnetovolt FudGe from the crescendo onwards.Planemo
